HRD+ONW is a joint project of HRD Fine Art of Kyoto, Japan and Space O’NewWall of Seoul, Korea. HRD Fine Art opened its gallery space in Kuramaguchi, Kyoto in 2015, renovating old Machiya townhouse. HRD specializes in contemporary art of Japan as well as East Asian countries, centered on South Korea, showcasing not only painting and sculpture but also photograph and video art. Space O’NewWall was founded in 2011 with a gallery space in Seongbuk-dong, a traditional downtown turned culturally hip area in the northern part of Seoul, Korea, using a Hanok townhouse building. In addition to painting and sculpture, O’NewWall puts its particular focus on media art and installation, and handles many curating projects both domestically and internationally, with particularly broad network in Southeast Asia.
